In the fast-paced times we live in, food has turned into just another obligation. Eating is no longer a pleasure we take our time with. Instead, we try to squeeze this basic need in between the various activities of our daily lives, almost mechanically. I phograph my subjects using a strong flash, to emphasize how hastily they consume their meals, but also to reveal their true faces — filled with anxiety, yet marked by a fleeting sense of satisfaction.
